Westside Future Fund

Anniversary Event

A decade of progress set the stage for a defining moment.

Westside Future Fund’s 10th anniversary became an opportunity to honor past achievements while galvanizing support for the future of Atlanta’s Historic Westside. The experience was crafted to celebrate transformative impact and inspire pride, connection, and shared purpose across the community.

From strategy to execution, every element was thoughtfully designed to reflect the organization’s values of community, equity, and gratitude.

concepting

Westside Future Fund (WFF) came to us with an established theme for the event known as Westside Proud, and they asked us to bring it to life. I worked in a concepting group of three, including copywriter Armani Kardar and events subject matter expert Taylor Schumacher. Here is what we presented to them; the clients chose The Walk of Why.

While the initial vision called for an event experience distinct from a traditional gala, the direction evolved toward a more classic format. In response, Concept 2 was refined to incorporate immersive installations throughout the venue, each highlighting key facets of the community — including historic legacies, resident stories, community impact, and a curated timeline.

Donor recognition was also a central component of the event assets. This was thoughtfully integrated through digital displays, a large-scale “W” installation featuring the organization’s mission, vision, values, and donor acknowledgments, as well as tabletop centerpieces and a take-home tri-fold.

The venue was transformed to reflect the Westside through the use of neighborhood banners suspended above seating areas and street names incorporated into the table centerpieces. To create a cohesive visual system, the experience was anchored by a simplified logo mark and distinctive brand assets, including a Westside map overlaid in WFF’s brand colors.
